Sergey Nabeshko, Director General of Minsk branch of the Belarusian Chamber of Commerce and Industry, took part in the meeting of the Council of Business Cooperation of the Chambers of Commerce and Industry of the two countries “Economy of the Union State. Lessons of the pandemic and prospects for the development of integration” within the framework of the VIII Forum of the Regions of Belarus and Russia.


The mechanisms of inter-chamber cooperation, the current state and prospects for further deepening cooperation at the regional level, the impact of the pandemic on bilateral cooperation, successful joint projects, issues of ensuring equal access of Russian and Belarusian enterprises to the markets of the two countries, as well as other systemic issues arising from mutual trade and export of products to third countries were discussed during the meeting.


The agreement on the establishment of a Joint Belarusian-Russian Business Council, as well as cooperation agreements and contracts for the supply of products between Belarusian and Russian enterprises of the chemical and petrochemical industry, enterprises of the construction industry in the amount of over USD 70 million were signed at the meeting.


Sergey Nabeshko in his speech informed about the existing difficulties in the entry of Belarusian enterprises into the Russian market, where they get the status of foreign ones.


He also noted the need for the concentration of efforts by the business association of the two countries: “I am convinced that a powerful extensive network of regional chambers of commerce and industry, together with interested businesses and with the coordination of the central Chambers of Commerce and Industry within the framework of the Joint Business Council, are able to solve the most difficult tasks aimed at the development of relations.”
