Business Cooperation Forum “Moscow-Minsk”, 11 October, 2017


The forum program includes plenary part, performance of three sections: “Big Cities Infrastructure”, “Smart Cities and Technologies”, “Touristic, Medical, Rehabilitational and Cultural Minsk”, touristic potential exhibition of Minsk and the Republic of Belarus, photo-exhibition “Minsk-950”.

The Forum was held during the Minsk days in Moscow and organized by the Minsk branch of the Belarusian Chamber of Commerce and Industry with the assistance of the Minsk City Executive Committee, Moscow Department of the foreign economic and international relations and the Embassy of the Republic of Belarus in the Russian Federation.


The chairman of the Minsk City Executive Committee A.V. Shorets; Minister of Moscow Government, Head of the Moscow Department of foreign economic and international relations S.E. Cheryomin; Counselor-Ambassador of the Republic of Belarus in the Russian Federation V.A. Stepuk; President of the Moscow Chamber of Commerce and Industry V.M. Platonov; Vice-president of the Moscow Chamber of Commerce and Industry C.A. Vardanyan; General Director of the Minsk branch of the Belarusian Chamber of Commerce and Industry A.A. Fedorchuk took part in the Forum opening.


As Chairman of the Minsk City Executive Committee Andrey Shorets, mentioned the Business Cooperation Forum “Moscow-Minsk” is an event which contributes to further cities rapprochement, establishment of business partner relations, new contracts appearing.


During his word of salutation Minister of Moscow Government, head of the Moscow Department of foreign economic and international relations Sergey Cheryomin said that the Belarusian trade turnover at the Russian market may reach 6.5 $ bn by the end of the year. “Last Belarusian export in Moscow increased by 40%”, - claimed Mr. Cheryomin and described the figures as ‘impressive’. According to his words, foreign trade turnover between Moscow residents and Belarusian partners reached 5.2 $ bn in 2016. “We agreed to continue Moscow orientation on Belarusian dairy and various agricultural products purchasing” added the Head of foreign economic department. Besides he mentioned good perspectives for the developing of cooperation in the spheres of healthcare, education and mechanical engineering.


President of the Moscow Chamber of Commerce and Industry V.M. Platonov claimed in his opening speech: “During the Soviet times we used to be twin cities and it was the time of the planned economy. These days passed away, but our warm-hearted relations remained. However, besides good relations, we build the mutually beneficial cooperation. It is the main task the Chamber of Commerce and Industry is facing: We help our cities to do that. With every new day we create conditions for developing and strengthening cooperation between entrepreneurs of our cities on a daily basis."


Chairman of the Economy Committee of the Minsk City Executive Committee Nikolay Rogashchuck presented the commercial, economic, industrial and investment potential of Minsk. He spoke not only about the main directions of the economy development but also about the free economic area “Minsk” and high-tech park, which includes at present 150 companies. During the performance it was mentioned that a really favorable investment climate was created in Minsk, what is confirmed by various ratings, including the international ones.


General Director of the Minsk branch of the Belarusian Chamber of Commerce and Industry Alexender Fedorchuk said: “The seriousness of the event is emphasized by the participation of top officials of the institutes’ top officials participation, that determine the architectural, social and investing policy of our cities”. That’s why the main work was conducted in the format of roundtable discussions and personal communication of the Minsk Days’ participants.


The main Forum work was concentrated in 3 sections.


SECTION 1. Big Cities Infrastructure.

The participants got familiarized with the methods of main energy consumption in the residential areas, discussed the solution of the parking place organization problem in two capitals, the subway development and the possibilities of the specialists arrival in Moscow and Minsk when it is necessary to solve different problems, etc.

SECTION 2. Smart Cities and Technologies.

The reporters presented the main achievements in the sphere of informational support and new technologies adaptation to the citizens’ necessities. Minsk guests found out about the development of the electronic voting system called “Active citizen”, the Multifunctional Centre performance and also about the participation of the innovation cluster “Zelenograd” in the program “Smart City” realization. The Minsk side provided data on the city information resources development, new technologies implementation in the sphere of real estate sale on the public transport control and the many others.

SECTION 3. Tourism in Minsk - Medical, Rehabilitational and Cultural.

This section was devoted to the informing on those opportunities which are now provided to the visitors of the Belarusian capital with the sightseeing or health improving goals.
