Official visit to the cities of Tokyo and Sendai (Japan) of Minsk city delegation headed by the Deputy Chairman of Minsk City Executive Committee Mrs.Zhanna Birich on May 31-June 05, 2015

Within the frames of the official visit to the cities of Tokyo and Sendai the delegation of the business circles of Minsk city headed by the Deputy Chairman of Minsk City Executive Committee Mrs.Zhana Birich took part in the Belarus-Japan Business Forum in Tokyo and business meetings with the leadership of Sendai city.

The visit was organized by Minsk City Executive Committee and Minsk Department of BelCCI with the assistance and support of the Embassy of the Republic of Belarus in Japan, Sendai City Council, Sendai CCI and Tohoku University.

The main goal of all the events is to present the investment attraction of Minsk city, the industrial, trade and economic potential of Minsk enterprises, the scientific potential of the Republic of Belarus, establishment of mutually beneficial contacts between business circles of Belarus and Japan, market expansion of products export, search of partners for production cooperation and other forms of partnership.

The members of the delegation were the representatives of Minsk City Executive Committee, National Academy of Sciences of Belarus, Minsk Department of BelCCI and four enterprises.

Within the Business Forum in Tokyo and business meetings in Sendai City Council and Sendai CCI the presentations on the economic, investment and touristic potential of Minsk city were held as well as the presentations on business advantages on the territory of the Free Economic Zone “Minsk”, the investment projects of Minsk city, National Academy of Sciences of Belarus and the enterprises, participants of the visit.

The participants of the forum and business meetings had the opportunity to taste the organic birch water of the CJSC “Minsk Soft Drink Factory”.

According to the program the delegation visited “Kashiwa-no-ha Smart City” of the corporation “Hitachi”, had a tour to Sendai regions suffered from tsunami of 2011, visited Tohoku University and secondary school Yagiyama (in Sendai twin school of Minsk gymnasium #19).

Members of the Belarusian delegation held B2b meetings with the representatives of more than 70 Japanese companies on the issues of cooperation in the spheres of science, education, investments, innovation technologies, technique, food products.
