On June 3 the opening of Belarus-Slovakia Business Forum took place


Within the framework of the Slovak businessmen and top managers’ official visit to the Republic of Belarus, Minsk department of the Belarusian Chamber of Commerce and Industry on June 3, 2014, held Belarus-Slovakia Business Forum and negotiations between the Slovak and Belarusian enterprises. The visit took place in accordance with the agreements reached during the 11th session of the Belarusian-Slovak joint commission on trade, economic, scientific and technical cooperation in Bratislava in November 2013. The visit was organized by the Slovak Agency for Development and Trade SARIO.

The opening event was attended by the following persons.

The Belarusian party was represented by:

· Vladimir Evgenyevich Ulakhovich – Deputy Chairman of the Belarusian Chamber of Commerce and Industry;

· Alexander Evgenyevich Guryanov – Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Belarus, co-chairman of the Belarusian-Slovak joint commission on trade, economic, scientific and technical cooperation;

· Vladimir Mikhailovich Serpikov – Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Belarus in the Slovak Republic;

The Slovak party was represented by:

· Pavol Pavlis – Secretary of State of the Ministry of Economy of the Slovak Republic, co-chairman of the Belarusian-Slovak joint commission on trade, economic, scientific and technical cooperation;

· Mariann Moravchik – Executive Director of the Slovak Agency for Development and Trade SARIO;

· Miroslav Moyzhita – Chargé d'Affaires a.i. of the Slovak Republic in the Republic of Belarus;

· Tibor Bok – Economic and Commercial Counsellor of the Embassy of the Slovak Republic in the Republic of Belarus;

· Shtefan Adam – Secretary of State of the Ministry of Land Resources and Rural Development;

· Frantishek Palko – Secretary of State of the Ministry of Transport, Construction and Regional Development.

The Slovak party made presentations on the following topics: ‘Trade and economic cooperation of the Slovak Republic and the Republic of Belarus’, ‘Travelling opportunities in Slovakia’. Representatives of the Slovak companies are interested in joint projects investment, establishment of business contacts with manufacturers and potential customers, as well as partners, distributors and intermediaries search, market research and contracting.

The Belarusian party made presentations on the following topics: ‘Basic principles of the CES (Common Economic Space). Current integration stages’, ‘Participation opportunities for the exporters of the Slovak Republic in the e-procurement of Customs Union’, ‘The conditions of privatization and privatization objects in the Republic of Belarus’.

During the business matchmaking session the representatives of 72 Belarusian and 35 Slovak enterprises and organizations held negotiations on the issues in the following spheres: energy; construction; woodworking, furniture, packaging; IT-technologies and banking services; travelling services; agricultural products and machinery, food- and feedstuff, fertilizers, food products, wine; machine building, metalworking, paints and varnishes; medicines, medical equipment, treatment facilities; logistics and transportation services; investment.

The outcomes of the negotiations were specific agreements reached.

During negotiations SKIPPI Nitra s.r.o. with Gomeldrev, JSC, Minskproektmebel, JSC and Softform, JV LLC, reached a preliminary agreement in the sphere of customized furniture and its pieces.

The representatives of Slovak travel agencies (KÚPELE SLIAČ a.s., KÚPELE LÚČKY a.s., Kvalita s.r.o., BARDEJOVSKÉ KÚPELE a.s.) and the Department of Tourism of Slovakia held business talks with a number of Belarusian travel companies (Katalina, ADL; ColorLand, ADL and Nova Tour ADL, etc. ). The representatives of Slovak travel agencies and the Republican Union of Tourist Organizations reached an agreement on conclusion of a Memorandum of Cooperation with the Union of trade and tourism of the Slovak Republic.

The representatives of INVESTEFEKT A company negotiated with Aqua-Minsk, SOE, and discussed the opportunity of a tennis center building at the expense of a tired loan of Export-Import Bank of the Slovak Republic.
